WIMBLEDON 2013

So, here we go, on to jolly olde England for Wimbledon 2013. Did the French Open just not happen?  So close these tournaments are, we are all so fortunate to have such wonderful athletes and varied court surfaces to show their stuff.

Highlights today~ sorry for Rafa Nadal, the King of Clay, who was taken in three straight sets by Belgian Steve Darcis, 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (10-8) 6-4.  Click here for a great BBC link discussing ALL of the first day's highlights.

Wimbledon the official site
Our favorite Roger Federer sailed through his match, see him on practice court and with his fans~

Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka are proceeding as expected to the next round.

The match between Maria Sharapova of Russia versus Kristina Mladenovic of France is a true classic, a 2 set match in two hours 22 minutes, 7-6, 6-3.  This match is a veritable battle, and Kristina looks like the Goddess Isis in her headband and regal bearing.

We will see Novak Djokovic on Day 2, I really can't wait to see his play, he moves so well, it has to be his gluten free diet.

Here is a really wonderful link on places to stay in London at 5ivestarLondon. These are superb hotels, maybe I will get there next year, simply too much happening here stateside!

Tennis fashion, again the air is chilly and damp, I love Azarenka's tight sleeved tennis shirts, Maria's too, they are hard to find, you really need one that has movement, flexibility and lightweight with wicking technology, here is her shirt that will not disappoint~

Sit back and enjoy the show, these world class athletes work so hard year round, and now here they all are in their finest glory, wearing tennis white on the best grass courts in the world.

AND If you have the good fortune to visit these matches, how about wearing some~
