The Oscars 2016, here they are! Quite honestly, this year I have not seen one of the movies up for the best picture, where oh where did this year go?? What we can discuss is the fashion, probably the best designs I have seen so far.
Best Actress
BIG congratulations to Brie Larson in Room, so young and pretty!

Best Supporting Actress
Lovely Alicia Vikander, for The Danish Girl, she is 27 years young!

Alicia is wearing a Louis Vuitton, designed shorter in front so she could 'dance all night.' The hemline has a balloon like look, reminiscent of the 1980s balloon dresses! Here, given a millennial look with silver accents and and easy flow.
The Presenters (and Honorable Mentions)
Timeless Cate Blanchett

Statuesque Cate wears Armani to the 'T' in fluffy petals in spring tones. Look at that fabulous detail, and designed well enough to sit comfortably in a hard seat for 3 hours! Congratulations Cate on your beauty, and the honor of being and Academy awards nominee.
Olivia Wilde

Now this is a daring dress, not for the faint of heart! I add this Valentino couture to the collection here for its absolute in your face statement that clearly exudes, 'I am wearing what I want to wear and no one is talking me out of it!' Olivia, you carry the architecture of this gown explicitly and with candor, bravo!
Rooney Mara

Lovely Rooney in this Givenchy creation. The gown flows in a quiet, form fitting way, and is heavily detailed in lace, covered buttons, and sports an open waist in diamond design. Must keep up with those tummy crunches! Love the covered sleeve!
Priyanka Chopra

And gracious Priyanka in silky Zuhair Murad couture. This is a great dress, it moves so well and does not take up space. The billowy heavy gowns are a thing of the past, go light! Go natural! The belt is fun, but I would prefer a thin metallic silver band.
The Guys (the best guy)
A BIG congratulations to Leonardo DiCaprio! You are such a terrific talent, and finally, yes finally, the 'powers that be' have decided to give you an award we all know should have been bestowed since your genius in Titanic, and later a top favorite film of mine, Aviator.
I love the way you bring your mother as your escort to these Academy Awards, you are so good!
Leonardo DiCaprio for The Revenant
Best Actor |
Congratulations everyone on your artistry, your talent, your gift to us all!
